I love working with skulls. I love how a big, bold, beautifully adorned skull has a presence and commands attention from a room, and can change the mood of a space. Each piece is so unique to itself; each animal’s skull has its own natural beauty to it, and it’s fun to work with such distinct features. Working with skulls inspires me because it gives me the opportunity to showcase the majesty of detail in God’s creation.
My process always begins with cleaning, bleaching and polishing bone & horn to perfection. Flawlessly bleached bone presents so many creative possibilities. Moving into the ranch studio, I then use a variety of mediums and techniques to bring a vision to life. I’m not one to confine my artistic range. From sculpting & crystals to leather work, romantic accents or bold themes, anything goes. But a great majority of my work reflects Patriotism and a way of life unique to our great nation.
